The mission of the CYBERCHASE Outreach department is to extend the value and impact of doing math CYBERCHASE styles in home, classrooms, libraries, and after-school programs through a prominent presence at math, science, and technology conferences/events; through outreach grant opportunities and workshop trainings; and through print and online educational resources and activities. Our goal is to also reach underserved children with a special emphasis on girls and minorities, particularly those without access to technology.
CYBERCHASE, the award-winning math-mystery-adventure cartoon seen daily on PBS Kids, is looking for interns. Both an animated public television series and a multi-media project, CYBERCHASE is designed to engage children ages 8 to 11 in the fun and challenge of math. In addition to the TV show, the project includes a Web site, magazine, teacher’s guide, outreach workshops, family activities, products, and more. The series is produced by Thirteen/WNET and Nelvana. The internships are at Thirteen/WNET in NYC. For more about the show, check out our website at pbskids.org/cyberchase.
CYBERCHASE Outreach interns will work with the Outreach team and have the opportunity to participate in the creation and implementation of national promotional and outreach activities, projects and events including the formation of related materials. This is a good overview for students looking to learn more about marketing, promotion, education, and community outreach for children’s television. All projects relate to the show and are designed to enhance and expand the Cyberchase brand.
