April 25th, 2008 at 10:30 am

The Korea Society just opened a new exhibition, Inside North Korea with the New York Philharmonic, a collection of photographs by award-winning photographer Mark Edward Harris. The collection documents the concert by the New York Philharmonic orchestra in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on February 26, 2008. The exhibit lasts through May 16.

You can watch the New York Philharmonic’s historic concert in its entirety on the Great Performances site.

To find out what life’s really like inside North Korea, explore what North Koreans call “Kim Il Sung nation” with Wide Angle’s photo essay, see how the past influences the present in a timeline of the Korean War or test your own knowledge of daily life inside the Democratic People’s Republic with this interactive challenge.
