June 27th, 2008 at 12:00 pm

This week’s Reel 13 short films featured a young boy in peril, a soldier’s broken marriage, and a quest to visit historic NYC towers. You voted, now find out which film won.

Winner: Entry of Buildings
Post 9/11 NY. A state of heightened alert. A mysterious old man prowls around one of the city’s most amazing architectural marvels. Is he friend or foe? Two overzealous security guards make it their mission to bring him to justice. Based on a story by Jonathan Lethem. Music by Moby. Directed by Gil Seltzer.

You can catch “Entry of Buildings” on the air this Saturday, June 28th on Thirteen between the Reel 13 classic and indie films.

Reel 13 would also like to congratulate last week’s runners up.

First runner up: In Silent Spaces
After the death of her mother during the 9/11 attacks on America, Sade becomes so consumed with seeing signs of the dead that she neglects the world of the living. When her young son wanders off into a deserted graveyard, that is anything but empty, Sade’s greatest wish and worst fear will come to pass. Directed by Safiya Songhai.

Second runner up: The Soldier’s Wife
Is today Wednesday? Is seven plus six thirteen? Is there something you are afraid I will ask you? When a soldier returns from the war, uncertainty follows him home. His wife struggles to respond. Directored by J.B. Herndon.
